Head Coach
Coach A (Alphonso Simmons) was raised in PG County and introduced to baseball at DuVal High School. He played varsity all four years and was team captain his senior year. He was a utility player but settled on catcher as his favorite position which he earned All-County, MVP, and later played D2 baseball before joining the US Army. He has coached all ages from 6-17 for 10 years. He holds multiple volunteer positions with BBGC which include Deputy Commissioner of Baseball Program, Commissioner of Rec Program, IT Board Member, and Fundraising Board Member. Coach Kevin Gedrich is 34 years old and lives in Bowie with his wife, Kimberly, and their three children Kayla (10), Nick (8) and Tyler (3 months). Coach Kevin was raised in Bowie and, throughout his younger years, played a variety of Travel/County sports including Baseball, Basketball, Football and Ice Hockey. In High School, Coach Kevin decided to play just one sport and pursued Select Ice Hockey. He was a 4 Year Varsity Lettermen and the team won the Maryland State Championship in 2000.
Coach Kevin has always been an advocate for sports seeing that sports help build character and help young boys and girls grow into more well-rounded, confident individuals. Because of that, he has enjoyed coaching kids over the years at the Bowie Hockey Club as an Assistant Coach. He still enjoys playing Ice Hockey every now and then in his Adult League over at Piney Orchard.
Kevin has worked at Metro for 10-years where he provides safety services to the general public as a Track & Structures Manager.
